Pumpkin Spice Shakeology

Happy Fall everyone! What is the best part about fall? I think my favorite part is the fact that I can wear jeans and a tshirt and be completely comfortable all day long. I love wearing scarves and eating candy corn, which also are fall favorites of mine. I mean even this precious little kitten is ready for sweater weather 🙂


Last but not least how can we forget the beginning of the Pumpkin Spice Latte season at Starbucks. I mean, I am a complete fan, but I have begun to realize the energy I get from Shakeology is far greater than that from coffee. Over the long term, the energy boost I get from Shakeology keeps me going and feel good for the whole week, whereas coffee only lasts until about lunchtime.

I am in a hotel for client work for the next three weeks, so making Shakeology in the hotel room is a little hard. I thought, well coffee will do the trick, but my oh my was I wrong. It’s not the same energy boost that I have with Shakeology. I am pooped when I get home from work and miss my fun recipes. Let’s continue this Shakeology September with a fall favorite and my newest creation: Pumpkin Spice Shakeology.


Vanilla Shakeology: 1 scoop

Organic Pumpkin: 1/3 cup (from Whole Foods)

Almond Milk: 1 cup

Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon (or more to taste)

Whipped Cream: 2-3 tablespoons

Optional: a handful of ice to blend


Now let’s put these yummy ingredients to use! Add your liquids to the blender first. This means add the almond milk, then the pumpkin. I found an organic pumpkin at Whole Foods, which cut the calories tremendously!! Less than 30 calories I believe for that ingredient. What more could you want for that fall flavor? This was also my first time ever being in a Whole Foods grocery store, so it was a definite win for me!! Next you can add your cinnamon and big ol’ Shakeology scoop.

**Update (10/31/2013): Of course I made this on Halloween! I’ve started just using regular canned pumpkin, so just know this also works!! Although it’s not organic, the calorie counts are pretty similar to the Whole Foods product I used the first few times.

Can we also just note how precious Halloween decorations are? What’s your favorite candy to grab in fun trick-or-treat packages during this time of year? I am obsessed with the Reese’s Cup miniatures. Five miniatures, unwrapped, and only 50 calories!! Satisfies that sweet tooth without breaking that calorie count. I ❤ Fall

  1. I have never tried Pumpkin Spice Latte in my entire life and all this talk about the beverage everywhere is making me all the more interested. I am not sure if our local Starbucks have them considering we don’t have the fall season. 🙂
